FlashForge Inventor 3D Printer
FlashForge's upgraded Dreamer now called the FlashForge Inventor.
This 3D Printer not only prints slightly larger with a volume of 230 x 150 x 160mm but it also has a couple of other time saving addons.
Power Loss Recovery
The new power loss recovery is designed to save hours of 3D Printing from being removed and started again by allowing you to resume from a power failure.
Superflat Aluminium Platform
Its ability to print at 0.8mm or 80 micron layer heights, on an aerospace industrial grade aluminium platform with a build volume of 230 x 250 x 140 mm makes some of the more difficult types of materials like ABS easier to print.
Touch Screen and WiFi Connectivty
A hot favorite for Schools because of the standalone 3D printing meaning this 3D Printer doesn't need to be constantly tethered to a computer and its user firendly interface featuring a full colour Touch LCD Screen.
The printers connectivity options of WiFi, USB Cable or SD Card makes it a versatile little unit giving the user fleixble options for operation.
Webcam for Monitoring
FlashForge have added a webcam for monitoring of your 3D Printing. Now you can watch your 3D Printer and check the printing process.
Stable ABS and PLA Printing
My two favourite things to mention with this 3D Printer is the fact it has an internal thermostat that monitors the chambers ambient temperature. If the printer exceeds the desired operating temperature on inside of chamber the rear mounted exhaust fans will kick in and extract air so as to ensure the most optimal 3D Printing enviroment possible for your object during the printing process.
Software for Printing
FlashPrint is the standard software that is provided with this 3D Printer and for a free basic slicing package its not short of features. Inlcuding a new feature that allows you to convert 2D to 3D Images.
Offering automatic and manual support structures to be added to your model before 3D Printing, the ability to preview the way your 3D Print is going to be printed and functions that can be modified like temperatures and print speed.
With supports being automaticly generated or manual you can now print using the second nozzle in two material types. Take for example the picture below is printed with PLA and PVA. The concept is that you use the PVA as a temporary support structure then when the 3D Print is finished you can disolve PVA in water, leaving you with you base PLA product.
